Review of the Week

So its now post E3 and everyone has been reflecting on what a week that was (myself included). So let's see what's been happening this week:

General News - James Horner's passing
It is with great sorrow that we have lost one of films best score composers, James Horner. This guy composed the scores for many films including not all but some of the Star Trek films, many of James Cameron's films, Braveheart, the Zorro films, the Karate Kid remake and The Amazing Spider-Man to name just a few. He is also known to have done the scores for some of the worst films ever made (according to the opinions of people like those from Channel Awesome), but on the whole, has done a wide range of scores for a variety of films made by some talented directors and distributed by some of the biggest film distributors out there. He's also done a bit of orchestral work as well. He died in a plane crash on the Monday that's just gone. He will be missed by many, especially Celine Dion who along with Horner, made what many call her signature song "My Heart Will Go On".

In other news, Batman Arkham Knight's launch didn't go according to plan (see my review of the game on Thursday for the full details), some film studios promise fans a sneek peak at upcoming films at this year's Comic-Con, classic western game Red Dead Redemption leads the vote for backwards compatibility on Xbox One, first Avatar sequel is to come at Christmas in 2017, McDonald's Canada are not buying any more Family Guy ads, DreamWorks Studios acquire the rights to Michael Crichton's Micro, Ubisoft are investing in VR games, Daniel Craig is set to continue doing James Bond until 2020 and Harry Potter is set to continue on stage next year as JK Rowling reveals an untold story.

Now onto the week's film and video game releases in most areas:
