TV Season Review - Doom Patrol (Season 2)

Yep they are back. DC's original team of misfits before the Suicide Squad were created and this time, there is no 4th wall breaking narrator. Which is a shame because he was one of the highlights from the first series. But that's OK me thinks because if DC have proven anything in the last few years, they are now in a much better place as far as story telling is concerned. So let's see what's in store for season 2 and be prepared for spoilers for those who have yet to see the first season:

So after saving his daughter (played by Abigail Shapiro), the Chief (reprised by Timothy Dalton) works with the team to try and prolong her life despite the risks that she poses as being a superhuman being. It would be up to the team should the Chief suddenly die to protect her. Meanwhile, Cliff (reprised by Brendan Fraser) tries to reconcile with his own daughter (played by Bethany Anne Lind), Cyborg (reprised by Jovian Wade) finds love and a bunch of other things happen too.

This season while less entertaining than the first, offers some emotional depth to the characters which is good I'd say after a season full of break 4th wall moments among other things. I also like that it was left alone after the whole Crisis on Infinite Earths event that the Arrowverse was doing. But having already had an episode with Titans, I would've loved to have them share the same universe instead of being separate which makes no sense given that they were clearly existing on the Titans earth. But that's fine. Overall a great second series and hopefully there will be more on the way. 8/10
