Some of us may remember the early versions of the Windows operating system as being that one OS that has games like Solitaire and probably others like I remember a pinball game, a pipe puzzle game and so many others. Nowadays those games are still around, but don't have a big enough presence on Windows like they used to. So here we have a game which is basically a compilation of games that are widely known to be tabletop games. Such games as well as what's been said above, include chess, checkers and many others. So let's take a break from all those story based games and do some tabletop games instead:
So along with the traditional tabletop games, gamers can also create their own games in this physics sandbox that has no set failure or victory conditions. Gamers can choose their tables and use the virtual pieces as a means for spawning and moving them. The game also offers a way to assist with common styles of board gameplay such as auto dice rolling, hiding player's pieces, saving the board or undoing moves. Up to ten players can play in any session and Steam Workshop can be used to help create new games and other things too. The development team have even bought in licensed properties too.
This game is surprisingly good. Most people would be turned off if tabletop gaming isn't your thing. But what makes Tabletop Simulator good is that physics is bought into the mix which adds some depth as well as the ability to change the game you play into something of your design. Its good fun and great for those of us that are isolating in these challenging times. So yeah give it a try. 9/10
