Video Game Review - Angry Birds 2

So after countless spin-offs such as going to a galaxy far far away (twice), looking at different holidays and going into space to name only a few, Angry Birds finally gets its first direct sequel and I got to say, a lot of work has been made to make this game be bigger and better than its predecessor. Is it better or just as good as its old predecessor? Let's find out:

So following the Mario style of story telling, the game's story is basically the same as its always been. The bad pigs take the birds eggs to make stuff with the eggs, the birds get angry and go to reclaim their eggs. Now the gameplay is more or less the same as it has been in the other games, but it has been expanded and built upon. What I mean by this, is that the levels now have muli layers which means that once you take out the pigs, you then move onto another set in that same level. Spells serve as the power-ups in this game, but pretty much work the same way. There are some old favourites and some newcomers in the birds which I won't spoil for you guys here. You can also decide what order the birds you want to use, a first for the series that allows us the players to make our own strategies when playing the game. And the game also uses lives this time.

The game I would say is what a sequel should be. A better experience for fans all around. However, the main bit of criticism that me and everyone else hate about this game, is that once you run out of lives, you have to wait a bit before playing again. Its like its fallen into the domains of Plants VS Zombies, Simpsons: Tapped Out, Candy Crush Saga and Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff. We get it. Games just want our money and we will give you money. Just don't force us to wait all this time. Its a good thing that Fallout Shelter doesn't do this and its good that the creators of South Park don't want to make a game like this at all. But other than that, its a good game with great visuals and great gameplay all around. 8/10
