There may be more things coming this month, but only if I have time. Now for a theory before tonight's Halloween special:

Are indie games depressing?
In a world where video games get bigger and bigger every year, the thing that splits players apart is the choice to play a triple A title like Assassin's Creed and Batman: Arkham or a indie title such as Journey, Super Meatboy and of course, the infamous Five Nights At Freddy's. But something that I have noticed is that most indie games tend to follow a dark path and would often be the subject of urban legends and creepypastas. So the question I have on this is that are they depressing. Ultimately it depends on the story and settings of the game and for all the indie games I've played, they do seem to be quiet depressing. FNAF has a complicated story which is just depressing about these killings that have happened and the monsters that are coming after you are just the aftermath of those killings. Slender has a somewhat depressing story where the mysterious Slenderman lurks in the shadows of a forest and anyone who sees him, is dead. But then despite all this, there is then also the indie games that are more light-hearted like Minecraft and Super Meatboy. Ultimately, the whole indie market is not depressing, but in a way, these games can be seen as a developer trying to reflect his or her life through the means of video games. The Indie Game Movie which is a documentary, describes some of the developers interviewed on their dark past lives and the pressure that was put onto them to make these video games. Whatever you choose to play is entriely up to you, but playing indie games just has that thing that makes you think about the things you do in the game and the consequences that it has.
