AC9: TV Series Review - Daredevil (Season 1)

So Marvel have branched out their cinematic universe to make things to fill up the time between the films and one of these things, is bringing out a series of shows on Netflix which would lead into a crossover event called the Defenders. So in a way, its kind of like how Avengers came out, but not quite the same. And unlike the shows seen on channels like Channel 4 and ABC, these only barely reference the other MCU stuff, but still share the continuity in some form. So rather than do an in depth review of each episode of these shows, I'm going to summarise them in the best possible way that I can. So let's kick these off by talking about Daredevil

After FOX failed to make any more Daredevil films, Disney and Marvel got the rights back and thus allowed them to put him into the MCU. The show focuses on our titular character during his early days as a crime fighter with being a lawyer on the side with his two friends. We also get to focus on an entirely different Kingpin to what we saw in the FOX film where here, he is treated as more of a tragic villain than a generic superhero villain.

That's really the general gist of it. Its well acted throughout with a great set of actors and it just questions us on whether to root for Daredevil or Kingpin because Kingpin's intentions for Hell's Kitchen (yes that is a real place, look it up) are good intentions as he wants to make it a better place, but does so in the most harmful and cruel of ways. While Daredevil himself just wants to keep the neighbourhood clear of enemies. Its those things that just make watching shows like this, totally worth it. 9/10
