With the thrid and presumably final Thor film coming out next year, I thought to take a look at a Hulk storyline in which involves Thor (or at least a variation of him). Now some of you may be wondering how Hulk fits in to this. Well we'll get to that shortly as we look into the film. The idea of Hulk and Thor doing something together sounds like a great idea. They are the most powerful of all the Avengers and why they weren't in Civil War is really because they are just too powerful and can easily end the war quite quickly regardless of who's side they are on. So with that said, let's see how Hulk handles being in space:
So a group of smart people on Earth including Iron Man, Dr. Strange and Prof. X, send Hulk away from Earth to an uninhabited planet where he cannot kill anything or anyone. Hulk naturally isn't happy about this and thanks to his smashing, sends the shuttle crash landing on a planet. There he gets captured by the local aliens and is set up with other prisoners to fight in a Colosseum against some of the deadliest monsters (including Thor) known to man in the hopes to be free. However Hulk begins being the angry monster that he is, before coming to terms that this could very well be a chance for redemption and with help from the other prisoners, begins his quest to free the people of this planet from a king who wants nothing more than to have Hulk's head on a silver platter among other things.
Now anyone who knows this story well, will know that this leads into Hulk's ultimate return to Earth for revenge against those who sent him away which is what most fans would expect to happen. But going back to this film. Even though I find that DC is superior in the animated film market as opposed to their recent live action outings, this Marvel film I felt was great. It allowed us to see Hulk in a whole new light, it gives us some very creative characters that are not just rip-offs of more popular Marvel characters and Thor's appearance just shows that there are some Marvel heroes out there that show some form of respect and kindness to Hulk, even if their brain or brawn comes before heart. Its unlikely that the next Thor film in the MCU will take on this storyline, but we can dream now can't we. 9/10
