Video Game Series Review - Grow

With the amount of triple A titles that Ubisoft do, its very rare to see those sorts of games that are smaller in scale or defined as an indie game. At E3 this year, it was announced that a sequel to Grow Home would be made and released so I thought to review them both. Both focus on a robot called BUD who takes on various tasks to find a way back home. So let's go:

Home
So if anyone knows the tale of Jack and the Beanstalk, this kinda follows a similar concept with a robot growing a beanstalk, but unlike Jack, he doesn't meet giants, gooses that lay golden eggs or harps. That's more or less the story where its just making the beanstalk grow as high as you can make it while using the right and left triggers on your controller to hold on for dear life. I can't really say much else. Its a fun game that makes you feel good when the beanstalk grows the way you want it to go and feel frustrated when you fall. It is however short which is the only downside, but other than that, its a feel good game with lots of colourful graphics to go with it. 9/10

Up
Following the same concept as before, BUD this time is tasked with finding pieces of his ship and putting them together to get home while using whatever is available to him along the way. Just by hearing the synopsis, it sounds exactly like the plot of the first Pikmin game, but without anything to do with Pikmin which is kinda funny. Controls remain the same, the colourful graphics remain the same, but what is new is the ability to scan areas of interest and some new abilities that were not in the first game and will help a great deal here. Not much to say here. It is a sequel, but for some reason, I feel like playing the first game again with some minor tweaks made. I'm not a fan of rehashed games, but its still pretty good and the new things really help in getting things going. 7/10

A charming experience, but this is as far as indie games go. Nothing big or fancy, just some great gameplay with some good graphics and that's what I see here. 8/10

Movie Review - Inside Out 2

I guess a sequel to the first makes sense here. I mean, for the most part, this franchise is all about the subject of growing up and with ...
