Boxes of Stuff - June 2017

So after a month's break, we're back. This time, your friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man is in Marvel Collector Corps once again and Geek Fuel goes into space with Guardians of the Galaxy and Space Invaders before coming home to do a Mario Kart race and go Back to the Future.

Now you're probably wondering where is Gamer Block M. Well due to some delays, the box hasn't arrived yet (and this seems to be affecting everyone) so I will make sure to post that up when it comes. And as promised, for April's Boxes of Stuff after eventually getting Geek Fuel for that month, they now take the crown as it was worth the wait.

Marvel Collector Corps - Spider-Man: Homecoming
So having already reviewed the film (despite the flaw it makes in the MCU's timeline), its now time to look at the official Collector Corps box for the film. So in the way of figures, we have two Spider-Man ones with him in the Stark Industries costume and the other in Peter Parker's homemade costume (and both are bobble heads which are fun). The third figure is the film's main villain Vulture who looks bad as always. The t-shirt is the official uniform for the school that Peter goes too which is very academic like. Vulture also appears on the patch as well as the pin badge which are cool. And like always, we get a comic book and this time, its Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man issue 001 and features a varient cover of the Funko Pop! versions of Spider-Man and Vulture. Overall, a very decent box, but I wish there were other characters than just Spider-Man and Vulture in it.

Geek Fuel
So as usual, Geek Fuel gives us a random box and inside, its largely sci-fi stuff with a few other things too. So all owners of this box get one of two plushies from Guardians of the Galaxy (either Groot or Rocket Racoon) and I got Groot who looks very cute. As you can see, the t-shirt is Space Invaders and of all the Space Invaders items I have received thus far, its very decent. In the Spider-Man box is a poster featuring Spider-Man's entire rouges gallery and other characters which looks very retro. This month's pin is a character from Super Mario Kart (and comes in a themed box that's reminiscent of the game's original box) and I got the main man himself, Mario. Then in the silver bag is the Sports Almanac from Back to the Future Part II (though really its a notebook with that cover). Finally, our Steam game this time is Deponia. So a very good box with some very good items and some more surprising than others.

So as we wait for Gamer Block M, the competition this time is a no brainer. While Marvel Collector Corps give me some great items, the problem it had was that it was too focused on the main hero and villain from the film and not everyone else. So Geek Fuel wins, but that may change when Gamer Block M eventually arrives.
