Boxes of Stuff - August 2017

So after a month's break, we are back with August's boxes. So this time the Avengers of old assemble in Marvel Collector Corps. While in Geek Fuel there is a big pop culture character amongst the Justice League in the box:

Marvel Collector Corps - First Appearance Avengers
So before Marvel were as big as they are now, many of their characters were making their starts in the comic universe. So first up we have a t-shirt which is a Pop! version of the first ever issue of the Incredible Hulk which was at a time where the big guy was grey and not green and looks very good and very nostalgic. Next are two Pop! figures which are Iron Man (presumably Mark 1) and Vision who both look good. And then last up is the patch and pin badge one being Captain America and the other being Nick Fury (pre-Samuel L. Jackson). So its not a packed box and it doesn't come with a comic book this time (I believe that's a first for the series). But it educated us with us having a look at the very first versions of all these great characters and more so I'm happy.

Geek Fuel - XL
So Geek Fuel did some remodeling and sent me their first XL box (hopefully the first of many) and it definitely lives up to the name (at least with one item anyway). So first off, there is a big Dorbz figure and everyone gets a different one so I got Rocket Racoon who despite being small really, its still a very good and big figure. Then there's two DC items in the form of a Wonder Woman t-shirt and the monthly pin badge where people get a member of the Justice League in the form of the Geek Fuel mascot (I got Flash). The Steam game this time is Spacejacked which looks interesting. And from Back to the Future, we get what looks like the Deloreon number plate. So overall a good box.

So both boxes lived up to their respective themes but Geek Fuel only had two XL items which were the figure and the t-shirt so it wasn't entirely living up to its name. I think there was just too much comic stuff this time between boxes, but as far as what I got is concerned, the winner is Marvel Collector Corps.

Next post will be in November which will cover the October offerings of the two boxes (seeing as MCC are bi-monthly). And click on the links to find out more.
