Random Movie Review - The Room

A long time ago in the not so distant past, a reviewer called the Nostalgia Critic reviewed what is arguably one of the worst films ever made. It led to backlash from the company that made the film, but ultimately it led to the NC becoming friends with some of the cast and even gave him the chance to have it be shown at his local cinema. Since that fateful day, I have always wanted to see it for myself and after waiting so long, I finally went ahead with it and yeah it is as bad as people say it is. I'm no stranger to reviewing films that are considered the worst films ever made, but I think you may be surprised with what I have to say about it. So let's give it a watch:

So after seeing a number of logos and titles saying Tommy Wiseau as if he didn't make it clear that this is his film (talk about a perfectionist), we meet a couple who live in a San Francisco townhouse. One named Johnny (played by Wiseau) is a successful banker and the other is Lisa (played by Juliette Danielle), Johnny's fiance who grows bored of him and wants something better. Lisa meets Johnny's best friend Mark (played by Greg Sestero) and decides to have an affair with him, leading to some pretty predictable circumstances.

So yeah it is a very bad film. The acting is poor, the writing sucks and is too predictable and some scenes go on longer than the average time (especially the sex scenes where I feel like I'm watching a porno). Lots of people have said that this film falls under the category of "so bad its good" and honestly, they are right. Like I said, I've watched a huge pile of bad films and this is one of the few that is actually bearable despite how bad, disturbing and cringeworthy it is. And I also know that anyone who shows their name several times in the film is a perfectionist and is likely to cause the film to not be very good even though they think it is. Anyway, The Room as bad as it is, is just laughably bad if anything. 6/10
