Random Video Game Review - Tattletail

Many, many years ago in 1998, an electronics company called Tiger Electronics released the toy Furby which was furry as the name implied, but for many people the fact that it responds to you and can go off at any moment, was and still is (for lack of a better phrase), creepy as f**k. Even with the less popular Shelbys, they were still creepy as f**k. So with the FNAF games having given jumpscares and survival games a whole new meaning, we get Tattletail. A game that has Furby like toys that like the real thing are creepy as f**k and well, I'll explain the rest as the review goes on:

So the game is set in 1998 (ah the irony) around Christmas time. We the player wake up 5 days before Christmas day to open our Christmas present which is a new Talking Tattletail toy. As the nights go on, we met a Mama Tattletail who was recalled and is hunting the player down relentlessly. So the game is largely having the player play with the titular Tattletail toy while escaping from Mama who I guess is only out for revenge or something like that. Like FNAF: Sister Location, this game runs over the course of 5 nights where you must complete objectives as you play with the Tattletail and avoid Mama while keeping noise to a minimum (a hard task indeed considering that the Tattletail toy and the shaky torch you get are noisy). Every night has a free roam environment that is basically a house of sorts.

So while I will agree that its very similar to the FNAF games, what makes it stand out is that its free roam and you are able to move freely with restrictions. Its also interesting to know that it's set in the same year that its real life counterpart Furby was introduced to the world. Its most likely to be less popular due to FNAF. But for what it is, it is very creepy and shows that games like FNAF could do with some innovation of sorts to keep the gameplay fresh. 7/10
