In 2011, a simple game known as Minecraft was released. It was a procedural generated game all about creating things with blocks of different elements while finding rare treasures and fending off all sorts of creatures. But the idea of building what you want, started well before Minecraft came about and it first started with a simple yet popular toy brand called LEGO. With both Minecraft and LEGO being very big and popular brands, TT Games wanted to create a game that puts both brands together and while its not strictly speaking a crossover, it puts the best of both into this one game. Now LEGO Worlds has been around for a little while and first started out as an early access game on Steam. Since then, users have provided feedback leading up to the release and early this year, the game got its official release on multiple platforms as well as Steam. So let's have our imagination run wild:
As with Minecraft, LEGO Worlds doesn't have a story mode and is instead open based. Players are able to create a number of things in LEGO either with the game's brick by brick editor tool or predefined LEGO structures. Weapons and tools are at your disposal and the majority of the figures you can play as, are mix and match but are largely those from the Minifigures range.
Not much else to say about it, but overall its a fun game. It gives us the opportunity to let our imaginations run wild without requiring a big room and a large quantity of LEGO pieces. Its very colourful and beautifully presented. And it gives me hope that TT Games won't always use the same old gameplay seen in their other LEGO games. Most people have said that nothing can beat Minecraft, but unlike No Man's Sky, this seems like a pretty good competitor for it as it brings one of the world's most popular brands to life without the need of a big room and a lot of LEGO pieces. Lots of fun to be had here. 9/10
