AC22: Random Movie Review - El Camino Christmas

Now its time to look at a Netflix Christmas films. As anyone who watches things on Netflix will know, its the place that not only has a lot of TV shows and films, but it also has some of its own original stuff with the most watched originals being House of Cards (which is unlikely to be given another season due to Kevin Spacey's recent shenanigans) and Orange is the New Black. Today I look at one of their Christmas films and this one is probably best watched without kids about. So let's have a look:

The story is about this man named Eric Roth (played by Luke Grimes) who goes to seek out his father whom of which he has never met before in his life. But when he enters the town of El Camino in Nevada, he is mistaken as a drug dealer by some stupid dim witted cops and gets himself pinned down in a barricaded liquor store with five other people. One of which just so happens to be his father.

While not having the makings of being a Christmas classic, this film is OK. The pacing is quite slow and it does have a few cliches in there. But the acting is OK as is the scenario which is set up well considering how overly used it is in other films. But if I were to sum up the film, its that some cops are dirty and corrupted and will stop at nothing to get what they want. But there are some good cops out there too who do their job right and people feel safe with them. 7/10
