TV Season Review - Jessica Jones (Season 2)

Now I'm not entirely sure if the Netflix Marvel shows have their own set of phases, but if they did then this would be phase 2 seeing as we've had The Defenders miniseries and The Punisher and now we have a new season of everyone's favourite private detective. My opinion of the Marvel TV shows set in the MCU are that they are just not up to the standard of the films. Most of the Netflix ones are pretty good with those broadcasted on live TV (depending on your area) having a more mixed response. But let's see what Marvel's top private detective is up to:

Presumably set after The Defenders as well as a few Marvel films such as Civil War and Spider-Man: Homecoming, Jessica Jones (reprised by Krysten Ritter) has made a name for herself with her being known as a super-powered vigilante following her ordeal with her late tormentor Kilgrave (reprised by the tenth Doctor himself, David Tennant, appearing in a similar fashion to Joker in Arkham Knight). Ready to move on from him, Jones decides to take on a new case that surrounds her past which could have some consequences with her allies and friends.

You know when you have a villain such as Kilgrave, its a tough villain to beat because Tennant does a very good job of the character that it just makes this new villain in season 2 look weak. But that being said, it's a good season that gives us another great performance from Ritter as well as Tennant when he appears. But like with Iron Fist, pacing becomes a big problem and as previously mentioned, the villain isn't at the level of depth that Kilgrave was. So not a perfect second season, but definitely one to satisfy the fans if anyone. 7/10
