Random Movie Review - A Goofy Movie

So most people I know who are Disney fans are generally into the main films and that's it. Whereas many of us millenials are also into the stuff that the now expensive Disney Channel (at least here in the UK unless you have DisneyLife) has given us over the years. So its comes as no surprise that we'd get a film that not only brings the Goof Troop TV series to a close (and yeah I know there is another one, but its unlikely I'll be seeing that any time soon), but also gives one of the company's most beloved characters his own film even though he's more of a sidekick as it were in it but that's ok. So having watched a few episodes of the show, let's dive right into the film:

So for those of you not too familiar with the show, its all about Goofy (reprised by Bill Farmer) and his son Max (voiced by James Marsden in the film) and the latter's life in high school where a whole host of shinanigans occur. So at the time of the film, Max and his fellow students go for their last day at school before the summer in which he attempts to woo his love interest Roxanne (voiced by Kellie Martin) by performing a song by famous popstar celebrity Powerline (voiced by Tevin Campbell) which pleases everyone at assembly except for the principal. Meanwhile Goofy gets the idea of going fishing with his son to bond better with him despite Max actually wanting to go to the Powerline concert in Los Angeles. Of course this causes tensions as the pair go on a buddy road trip that changes their lives forever.

Although the series was great, I have only seen a handful of episodes like I said though know a lot of people who like it. Unfortunately such is the nature with ToonDisney's films, the quality isn't great and as a result it hasn't aged well. But aside from that, the story is good, the songs are memorable and children will tell Goofy to let Max go to the concert while adults will tell Max to go fishing with Goofy. Either way, its become a cult hit and its still a good film despite the lack of quality in its animation.
