TV Season Review - The Walking Dead (Season 9)

To best describe the ninth season of The Walking Dead, its basically the most emotional, action packed and fast paced season so far. A few beloved characters get retired, several time jumps occur and we get to meet a whole new batch of characters good and bad. You know when they say that it follows the comic book series loosely, they are not kidding. So let's enter the apocalypse and see what dangers lurk ahead:

Following the defeat of the Saviors, many of its members either do slave labour or defect to the united communities led by Rick (reprised by Andrew Lincoln) despite tensions running high with his decision to spare a now imprisoned Negan (reprised by Jeffery Dean Morgan) who slowly becomes ready and willing to prove himself reliable despite the past. Despite this, the united communities attempt to rebuild civilisation, a thing that proves to be more difficult when Rick disappears following an explosion as well as the looming threat of a new group of survivors known as The Whisperers.

This season is great. It gets the show's pacing back to a level that we like. It also sees many of the characters get character development to make them more bad ass than ever before. Although some of the main cast have since parted ways in this season, the remaining characters as well as the new ones are still a blast to watch and see in action. The family is indeed getting bigger and I look forward to what is likely to be yet another war in season 10. 9/10
