Video Game Review - Harry Potter: Wizards Unite

So we all remember the craze that Pokemon Go gave when that came out. I called it the most innovative game in the series and to this day its still going as strong as it can be. So now we have the Harry Potter version where instead of Pokemon, its all magical things far and wide. This could be a great game or just a clone of Pokemon Go. Who knows so let's get to it:

Set after all eight films in the main series, the Wizarding World has been exposed and its up to us to find all magical things and return them to their rightful place. Players get to play as their own witch or wizard and have a choice to be an Auror, a Professor or a Magizoologist as their profession as well as their choice of Hogwarts house, the design of their wand and how they appear to the wider world. There are lots of encounters which require us the player to use our spells to free magical items in order to send them back to their rightful place. In the place of gyms and Pokestops are greenhouses, fortresses and inns in which you can get XP and do battle against dark forces. The game uses the same map that Pokemon Go uses as well so some areas will be familiar.

So overall it is very much like Pokemon Go. Its like a lot of concepts came together and it ultimately became a clone of Pokemon Go. But that's not necessarily a bad thing because its in every way a game that fits well into the Wizarding World franchise and will certainly have years of development ahead that will give us more. For now, its decent enough to play and as I say, I'm sure there will be more to come for it. 8/10
