For those of you who don't live in the UK, you may not have heard of a company called Games Workshop. Basically they are a shop/minifigure manufacturer that specialise in tabletop games such as the Warhammer series and the strategy battle games based on the world of Middle-Earth. They are also involved in video games based or loosely based on their properties and today as we continue the journey into my Steam library, we are going to talk about one of them today. So grab your figures and get ready for one heck of a strategy game:
So Mordheim is a skirmish variant of the Warhammer games in which the player is put in charge of a small warband that fights others for resources around the titular city of Mordheim. As with most strategy games, you get to choose your faction and its up to you to improve the warband's strength by doing a series of tasks that would ultimately improve each character in the warband. A single player campaign and an online mode are both available in this seemingly simple game.
Having played not many but a few tabletop games myself, I felt this game was ok. Its nowhere near perfect and does lack some serious innovation. But its a fine tabletop game that is worth your time even if it looks a bit bland. As always, this is just personal preference and I'm sure many people love this. I'm just one of a few that think its just ok. 7/10
