To call a video game Endless Legend or a film The Neverending Story would normally imply that said film or video game has no end. Now with the latter, there were at least three films, so of course it was never-ending until the final film. The former meanwhile takes the Minecraft route of having randomly generated things, so of course calling it Endless Legend would make sense, and that's the game we are looking at today. Yes people we are still going through my Steam library of games which does feel like an endless library I will admit. So let's get straight to it:
So, the game is a turn based 4X fantasy-strategy game in which players are tasked with dominating the fictional world of Auriga with one of the game's fourteen races or factions. This can be achieved through diplomacy (my preferred choice) or war, while developing new technologies and exploring new areas in which there is a chance of finding new cities. The land in every session is randomized, so you are always finding new and exciting places with the map made of a hexagonal grid with models. What makes the game stand out from other 4X games is that the map is made up of separate regions in which whenever a city has become established within the borders for the first time, the entire region is yours to control, just as long as you remain loyal to your respective race or faction.
And that is the basic concept of the game. The game is good. It turns the 4X genre onto its head and is just a generally good game that's worth your time if you ever come across it on Steam or some other place. 9/10
