So with almost the whole world now under lockdown due to the coronavirus, many gamers are looking for something to escape from the doom and gloom that could very well be compared to all those different games, films, TV shows and books set in an apocalyptic or post apocalyptic world. But we are not going to look at that kind of game today. Instead we got a game that at the time of writing this is a free game on Steam and is one of those match 3 or more games. Normally the type of game I generally don't talk about here, but hey ho. So let's get to it:
So the idea of the game as previously mentioned is that you match three or more gems in each puzzle. As you do that, you can equip your hero with armor and weapons while leading a group of fantastic beasts (not anything from the Wizarding World unfortunatley) into battle. Strategy is key to victory as it will help with setting up your units and fighting bosses. The game also has an online mode which as you can imagine, allows you to add friends to chat and battle with or against.
With a cartoony like interface and lots of other things, Gems of War feels like the sort of game that people can easily pick up and play as a means to pass the time and keep our sanity in check in the wake of this virus. Again its not the sort of game I would normally play let alone talk about, but its quirky and has some charm about it and is one game that people should play if they are able to. 7/10
