TV Season Review - Arrowverse (The Flash Season 6, Supergirl Season 5 and Legends of Tomorrow Season 5)

So for a few of these shows, they came to an abrupt end due to the coronavirus so any storyline that may have needed resolving will now be addressed in the next series next year. So at the time of writing this, Arrow has well and truly finished, Batwoman is still going here in the UK and the rest of the shows have reached their season finales. So time to review them me thinks and of course I will touch upon anything in the shows to do with the big annual crossover. So let's get to it:

Supergirl (Season 5)
In this season, Lena (reprised by Katie McGrath) learns of the secret identity of Supergirl (reprised by Melissa Benoist) and makes it her mission to fix mankind even after Kara opens up about her identity. Other highlights see Supergirl rewriting history and also save the multiverse with others while having dealings with Lex Luthor (reprised by Jon Cryer) who has somehow been resurrected. One of the things I like about this season is how after so long Supergirl finally tries to open up to Lena. Though of course Lex reappearing is not very helpful and overall this series is OK at best. But nice that it now joins the rest of the Arrowverse finally on one earth. 7/10

The Flash (Season 6)
I will start this one by saying how much I really like the new opening. It makes out that the show is no longer just all about the Flash as other characters have chances to shine too. So before the Crisis event, Team Flash learn that The Flash (reprised by Grant Gustin) is destined to die and that nothing can change that due to the event being prophesied, but they try to change it anyway. The second half which starts after the Crisis, we see Iris (reprised by Candice Patton) gets pulled into a mirror with the team unaware due to an imposter posing as her. Nash (played by Tom Cavanagh) comes to terms with his actions from the Crisis and seeks to make amends. And a whole pile of fast paced a** kicking along the way. I didn't like the first half because the whole time the team didn't think that maybe another Flash may be the one that is to die and yeah its just really annoying. But aside from that the rest of the series is good as it always has been. I know people are annoyed with Hartley Sawyer's resurfaced controversial tweets and yeah I can see why you would be and to be honest, he was ok in The Flash, but more of a comic relief character than anything else (though yes he has had moments that were not funny too). 8/10

Legends of Tomorrow (Season 6)
So Legends of Tomorrow was the only Arrowverse show that started its season after the Crisis event with its first episode being the show's part of the crossover. Once again, the gang go on a number of adventures across time where silly shenanigans take place and enemies of Constantine (reprised by Matt Ryan) resurface to cause problems. I can't take this show seriously any more. I mean it was very serious for a while, but now it feels more like a comedy superhero series. But then again, each of these shows have different styles and ways of telling their stories while keeping with the in universe logic. But nevertheless, it's a good series that is probably better as a short series than a long 20 or more episode series considering how much you can do before it starts to become too much of a one trick pony. A funny, action packed series and very much the palate cleanser of the Arrowverse following the loss and ending of the series that started it all. 8/10

Don't know what we will get when these shows return. But I look forward to seeing the actual endings to them next year.

Movie Review - Inside Out 2

I guess a sequel to the first makes sense here. I mean, for the most part, this franchise is all about the subject of growing up and with ...
