Random Video Game Review - Boundless

So Humble Bundle have started doing this thing now where in addition to the monthly bundles, people get an extra game in addition to the games they pick in the monthly bundles. This I feel is a good incentive as it gives people an extra game to play even though they don't have a choice in the game Humble Bundle picks. So this time we got Boundless, a game with no story per se but can be compared to Minecraft in the sense that like that game, it's a procedurally generated game. So let's take a look:

Playing from a third ( like Batman: Arkham) or first-person perspective (like almost every known shooter that you have ever played), players get to control a fully customizable avatar who can travel across several procedurally generated planets which are made up of various types and shapes of blocks. Using these blocks, players get recipes to craft items in an attempt to shape the planets in their own image and eventually be able to travel to other planets. Players can gather resources from local environments and use them to survive. Bases known as Beacons can be made which can protect an area from being edited and/or mined by other players. And of course because this is a survival game, there are some creatures who are out for blood so be ready.

While not necessarily innovative, Boundless does well with its visuals and usefulness of working together with others. It feels like one of the more innocent survival games in which its not too intense nor casual. It's got a good balance and to me, that's what matters most in games like these. 8/10
