Random TV Show Review - Blood Drive (Season 1)

I figured it was time to look at another SYFY series and one that looks like it could've been a Mad Max like series. But it didn't become such a series and instead did its own thing, but you can see how similar it could be. Although I can call it a good but very bizarre series with questionable things within, it like Vagrant Queen only lasted for one series. But I think on this occasion, that is actually OK because this series took a lot of risks that you would probably never see in any series like it again. So let's see what the fuss is about:

Set in an alternate dystopian 1999, a Los Angeles police cop called Arthur Bailey (played by Titans star, Alan Ritchson) is forced to team up with a dangerous femme fatale called Grace D'Argento (played by Christina Ochoa) as they take part in a death race fuelled by human blood. This as a means to find out the truth behind an organization called Heart and bring an end to them somehow.

While many will compare this favorably to the Mad Max series, it does feel like a series like that in almost every way. The main difference being that the human race is still very much alive among other things. At first I was turned off when a bizarre sex scene in one of the earlier episodes started out. But I let that slide and enjoyed the show for what it is. Its fun, gets your adrenaline pumping and very intense with some decent acting from everyone. 9/10
