Random Movie Review - Angry Birds Movie 2

I don't know if many of you remembered the first Angry Birds film. I guess it didn't help that it was released in a year that was supposed to be the big comeback for video game films and well we all know how that played out. It backfired so bad that it put any chance of further video game films being made as far as making a series of films or a new cinematic universe is concerned. But despite this, I did at least find some redeeming qualities about those four and for The Angry Birds Movie, it's story was more or less the traditional Angry Birds story of the pigs stealing the eggs making the birds angry, and so they use a catapult to save their eggs and destroy the pigs. Just on a more grander scale because its was a theatrically released film. But no one thought a sequel would get made, but here we are. So let's get angry and watch this sucker:

Three years have passed since Red (reprised by Jason Sudeikis) led a desperate mission to save the eggs from the pigs. Since then, he has become the island's newest protector alongside Chuck (reprised by Josh Gad) and Bomb (reprised by Danny McBride) and both Bird Island and Piggy Island are in a prank war. But when this war is disrupted by giant ice cannonballs from a seemingly uncharted island, Leonard (reprised by Bill Hader) of Piggy Island asks for a truce to save their islands from a new threat. Red reluctantly agrees and forms a team consisting of his pals and Chuck's genius sister Silver (voiced by Rachel Bloom) along with Leonard and a couple of his pig minions. But the question about what Red is afraid of, begins to become quite the plot point. Meanwhile in a side story, three hatchlings go on a mission to rescue some eggs that they unintentionally left adrift in the ocean.

While the first film was what the fans wanted, this one decides to do something no Angry Birds thing has ever done before (well except for some of the games); the pigs and the birds working together. It is predictable up to a point, but the concept is executed well. It's also nice that the blue bird (represented by the hatchlings) gets to do something in this film rather than just be left till the end. I got to say, I actually like this film a lot more than the first because it did something new and who thought that there were more pigs with different personalities than just the king, the chef and the moustache one. Yeah I like it. 8/10

Movie Review - Inside Out 2

I guess a sequel to the first makes sense here. I mean, for the most part, this franchise is all about the subject of growing up and with ...
