Random Video Game Review - Niche - a genetics survival game

Time for another survival game on Steam and this one is a little different. While most survival games are all about making bases, finding food and crafting, this one takes a very different approach and it's a fascinating one at that. With no humans in sight, this game has you play as animals based on real genetics in a sort of turn based strategy style of gameplay. So let's see what's in store (or more appropriately the jungle) for us here:

This game is first and foremost a survival game. But it also combines elements from turn based strategy games and simulations with rouge like elements thrown in for good measure. Players can create animals which can be an actual real animal or a combination of different animals (though those kinds may look like abominations). Your animals must survive things like climate change, hungry predators and more appropriately to current events, spreading diseases and sicknesses. If your species goes extinct, the game is over and you have to start again.

That pretty much sums up the game. A good game overall with lots of experimentation to be had when making different species and possibly other things too. Worth your time if you like creating your own kinds of creatures and animals. 8/10
