Random Movie Review - Contact

For years, we have always been wanting to know if there is life out there beyond Earth and for a lot of us, we believe there is. Scientists, those that work in the film, gaming and TV industries and many authors plus more. Many of these things have explored the concept and today we look at another one. Made by the great Robert Zemeckis, we got a film that sees someone trying to make contact with extraterrestrial life which leads into a series of wonderful, but mind-bending events that tests our beliefs and more. So let's see what we get here:

Based on the 1985 novel of the same name, Contact tells the story of Dr. Eleanor Arroway (played by Jodie Foster), a scientist who finds strong evidence that extraterrestrial life is out there and becomes involved in making first contact. This of course leads to events that have politicians and even the Supreme Court get involved, a potential love relationship with Palmer Joss (played by Matthew McConaughey) and a sense of wonder and action as Ellie finds out if life truly does exist beyond Earth.

This is a good film even though it came out years after similar films such as E.T.: The Extraterrestrial which does make it unoriginal in a way. Despite this, it's got good acting and explores different theories and ideas really well (which may lead to some debate among real scientists). And unsurprisingly, the book its based on regained popularity when the film came out which is good news I say. 8/10
