Random Movie Review - Superman: Man of Tomorrow

There have been loads of Superman stories. Some are great, some are bad and some are just somewhere in the middle. Most people would say that his stories are the same in that its all about his powers and him learning the purpose of his existence and his role as a hero. Whereas the only good stories of his are team ups, fighting against other heroes or when he's going up against a powerful villain or team of villains who could very well kill him in the process. In today's review, we look at a film that looks at his career during its early days. Something of which has been expanded and explored in Smallville many years prior. So let's see how this film fares:

Clark Kent (voiced by Darren Criss) has been isolating himself from humanity because of a fear that he shares with his adoptive parents that his superhuman powers could be dangerous. As a young adult, he becomes an intern at the Daily Planet in Metropolis where he covers the launch of a Lexcorp telescope said to be capable of potentially discovering alien life from space. Lex Luthor (voiced by alternate Spock himself, Zachary Quinto) is revealed to have been giving fraud to the president by grad student and fellow Daily Planet employee Lois Lane (voiced by Alexandra Daddario). This happening just as Clark becomes acquainted with janitor Rudy Jones (voiced by former Marvel star Brett Dalton). And so the rocket is launched before exploding which prompts Clark to reveal his powers to the world by sending the rocket into space and saving everyone. With the fraud revealed as the truth, Lex is arrested and Lois begins to write articles about the flying man which she later calls the Superman. Sure enough, he will be needed as certain things fall into place and beings from outer space come to his aid.

While I normally give praise to most animated DC films because they are fantastic and not well known outside the fandom when they should have every right to be, this film is also good but does have some problems. The animation is a bit strange this time and can be a distraction from an otherwise very decent Superman flick. Most of the voice actors are new this time around and while most of them are pretty good, there are a few that feel a bit odd at least to me. But overall, a good Superman film that's worth a watch. 7/10
