Random TV Season Review - The Walking Dead: World Beyond (Season 1)

The Walking Dead franchise has come a long way since the comic book series. I mean no one would've thought that a series that's basically another zombie apocalypse flick could be so good and highly rated. I mean sure its not perfect, but its gained a huge fanbase since the original TV series started. We are now nearing the end of Season 10 of the main show (no thanks to Covid-19) and there is a lot we got to look forward to. The Walking Dead will have a few more episodes to wrap up the now extended season 10 with season 11 serving as its final season. Fear the Walking Dead (which I will be reviewing soon) which was the main show's first spin-off and has cast from the main show appear, is currently ongoing with a seventh season being announced. Another spin-off featuring Carol and Daryl from the main show is being developed as is an anthology series. And finally, there are films in the works that are set to continue the story of Rick Grimes and other main series characters who are still alive, but have left the series. Its all happening in other words and unlike Game of Thrones where most of the fans aren't really wanting spin-offs after how the main show ended, we have a lot to look forward to from everyone's favourite zombie apocalypse franchise. So here we are with the second spin-off and it's quite interesting. So let's take a look:

Set ten years after the initial zombie outbreak, we are in Nebraska where a generation of people are coming of age and soon discover what purpose they have. Some will be heroes. Some will be villains. But overall, they will all be changed forever. Focused on their identities, good and bad.

Its not easy to make something new in an otherwise crowded franchise such as The Walking Dead. I mean as well as the comic books, TV shows and films (upcoming and ongoing), let's not also forget the many video games that we have had which are as equally important as the rest of it (well the TellTale ones at least anyway). But to the show's credit, its looking at one of the more untouched areas of the franchise; the people that were bought up after the outbreak and them coming to terms with their purposes in the world. What has become a strong point for the franchise is how it decides to focus more on the human element and how they navigate a world that has changed from what came before. There is room for improvement sure, but as a first series its alright. Worth a watch if you need a break from the main show and Fear. 8/10

Movie Review - Inside Out 2

I guess a sequel to the first makes sense here. I mean, for the most part, this franchise is all about the subject of growing up and with ...
