Random TV Season Review - Pennyworth (Season 2)

Everyone's favourite butler is back for another season. We're still a long way away from having Bruce Wayne in the mix, but so far it's been an interesting series. Thankfully one that does its own thing without tying in too much to the world of Batman even though it has been introducing such elements and characters but slowly. So let's see what Pennyworth (reprised by Jack Bannon) has been up to this time around:

England has entered a civil war, with all but a few areas of the country now under the control of the neo-fascist Raven Union led by Lord Harwood (reprised by Jason Flemyng). While taking charge of the "all are welcome" black market Soho club The Delaney, Alfred and his SAS buddies desperately look for a way out of a burning London and set their sights on America.

You know, it's not the first time that we see London burning regardless of if this is set in alternate 60s or not. Anyway despite how the last season ended, this season starts off well and continues to get better with its action, character development and slow introductions to Batman elements and characters aside from Pennyworth himself of course. Give it a watch if you have StarzPlay (which is currently its streaming home here in the UK). 8/10
