Random Movie Review - Hotel Transylvania: Transformania

I will admit, I really thought that the third film would be the last. I mean sure the quadrilogy as it's now known as isn't perfect due to a few of the cast (at least in the first three films) being from the Happy Madison crowd (aka Adam Sandler's production company known for producing some of the worst, mediocre, unfunny and stupid films of all time), but then you have animation and Cartoon Network legend Genndy Tartakovsky who balanced that with his style of CGI animation, humour and fun. The three films were pretty good for the most part. But many of us question why this "final" film needed to be made. Yet here we are with it, and it's an Amazon Original, so this could be another great film or complete and utter rubbish that didn't need to be made (though the recasting of some characters is promising, whereas the change of director to two inexperienced ones is not). Let's see if this was worth making or not:

The hotel is celebrating its 125th anniversary and Dracula (this time voiced by legendary YouTube impressionist, Brian Hull) is just about ready to retire, which his daughter Mavis (reprised by Selena Gomez) catches wind of. She tells Johnny (reprised by Andy Samberg) who excitedly wants to renovate the hotel much to Dracula horror (yes I said it). He comes up with some excuse about the law being that only monsters can renovate hotels, leaving a disappointed Johnny to seek help from Abraham Van Helsing (reprised by Jim Gaffigan) who uses a new invention that ends up turning the main monsters into humans and Johnny into a monster. The gang set out to find a key part of the destroyed invention, or face the fact that life may never be the same again for them.

Of all the films we've had, this one didn't need to be made and is nevertheless pretty bland. It's more of the same really, with the only part I like being when all the monsters attempt the "Cha Cha Slide" which is something I always do at school. So yeah it's more of the same and if you are OK with that, then you'll be fine. For the rest of us, enjoy the trilogy for what it is and maybe skip this one that makes it a quadrilogy. 7/10

Movie Review - Inside Out 2

I guess a sequel to the first makes sense here. I mean, for the most part, this franchise is all about the subject of growing up and with ...
