Random Video Game Review - WarioWare: Get It Together!

Been a long time since I last played one of these games. I do enjoy games that have minigames as it just gives the game a chance to shine in parties of family and friends. Of course, the WarioWare games have an edge in this as most of said minigames are fast-paced, but nevertheless very fun to do. Having been in nearly all Nintendo platforms since the days of the Game Boy Advance and Gamecube, it has helped cement Wario as a unique character rather than just a simple copy of Mario. Wish the same could be said for his brother Waluigi, but his time will come I'm sure. So let's see what this Switch game is like:

Wario and his friends gather in WarioWare Inc. to see Wario's new game be finished. But when he tries to turn it on, nothing happens, causing some confusion. But when he tosses it in the air, the game then starts sucking him and his friends into the game. Inside the game, the gang discover that it is full of bugs and glitches. So Wario sets about finding his friends and also fix the game as much as they can in the hopes of getting out. Much like the rest of this series, all levels give you four lives, which can be lost if a "microgame"isn't completed. All levels contain "microgames" which are very short minigames that must be completed within a few seconds (sometimes more). Unlike the other games however, each character must now take part in them, each with their own set of abilities such as Wario being able to float around and others having vehicles to use and more. The game can be played with up to two alternating players, with each character only needing the thumbstick and a single button as controls. There are also a few modes outside the main game too.

One thing I do like about this game is that we get more of a chance to get to know each character as we play as them. This wasn't possible before, and now I feel I know more about them besides being associated with Wario. The imagination of these "microgames" is endless, and I do really enjoy seeing the switches in style and difficulty in them. I guess the only thing most of us don't like about this game is how restricted the microgames are to each character and the lack of meaningful unlockable things. But apart from that, it's another fine entry to this bizarre but fun series of games
