Avalanche Studios have had an interesting history as a game developer and publisher. Most of you know them for the chaotic Just Cause series, and they also made that one Mad Max game that many have probably forgotten existed. Not to be confused with the company that made Disney's toys to life series and are now part of Warner Bros. Interactive (or whatever they are known as these days), actively making Hogwarts Legacy. So here we are with a game that is one of a few Avalanche Studios games that isn't Just Cause or part of some other big franchise. Let's take a look:
Set in a post apocalyptic Sweden in 1989, the country has been overrun by killer robotic machines. Varying in size, it's up to the player character to traverse the new world, survive and determine the fate of mankind as well as a way to defeat the robotic creatures. The game as you may have guessed is open world from a first-person perspective with shooting being a key element. That and the whole idea of survival in this game that looks like the style of a well known Swedish artist.
This game is pretty good, actually. The story is quite simple and in some ways generic, but the graphics are pretty sweet and the gameplay is alright too. Not much else to say, but it can be fun and brings people together. 8/10
