Random TV Season Review - The Boys (Season 3)

You know its kind of interesting to see how fans react to things that are just too similar to one another. Like much of my time before finishing season 3, was spent on Facebook just seeing how people reacted to all the superhero things we were getting in the short space of time. I'm not saying that there is a preference for me because in my honest opinion, they are all good, have their own style and no one should really pick on the main stars just because you don't like them in a way. But here we are with the third season of that one Prime Video show that really takes crudeness to a whole new level in the superhero genre. Let's take a look:

Set one year after the last season, the titular Boys now work for the Bureau of Superhero Affairs led by Victoria Neuman (reprised by Claudia Doumit) as they work together to apprehend problematic superheroes, having been at peace with the Seven. But the conflict they once had, soon resumes when Butcher (reprised by Karl Urban) begins to investigate the truth behind the death of Solider Boy (played by Jensen Ackles), one of Vought's first American superheroes. He also plans to kill Homelander (reprised by Antony Starr) for good, whose mental stability begins to deteriorate as Vought start having him restrict his powers while other members of the Seven assist the Boys in their plots against him.

A lot can be said about this season and honestly, its probably the best that The Boys has had so far. The ante is turned up a notch, the stakes are higher than ever and the crudeness and characters becoming mental unstable makes this a packed series. But one that once again draws people into subscribing to Prime Video. Definitely worth the watch at least. Would I call it the best superhero series of the year so far? Probably not, but it is what it is, just like Marvel and DC's offerings. 9/10
