Movie Review - The Menu

Before doing today's post, I would like to pay tribute to the original Green Power Ranger, Jason David Frank. While I'm not as big on the franchise as I used to be, I did enjoy the shows for a while. Always fun, corny, and something that would give me reason to give Fox Kids (as it was known back then) a chance. Alongside their huge library of anime and other great shows. Jason, much like with Kevin Conroy, has entertained fans for multiple generations, and it's kind of sad that we have lost him too. May he rest in peace.

Now onto today's movie review:

We return to Searchlight Pictures now as we have a look at this peculiar film. I've seen Ralph Fiennes in a lot of things and ever since Harry Potter, I always say "Oh look, it's Voldemort!" because, well, that is a classic example of what a villain should be. I have also seen a few that star his brother Joseph (a couple showing off a fair bit of flesh, but some others too). So here we are with a film that makes a few of us hungry, but I can certainly see many YouTubers getting a kick out of a film such as this. So let's dine as we take a look at The Menu and make our orders:

A bunch of people are invited to travel by boat to a restaurant called Hawthorne, which is located on a private island. The celebrity chef Julian Slowik (played by Ralph Fiennes) is the owner and operator and has invited these people to enjoy a night of theatre, food, wine and many a taste. But may also have something else up his sleeve when a certain visitor Margot Mills (played by Anya Taylor-Joy) is not on his original visitor list, and he must do something about her and also his other guests too.

Yeah, it's a difficult one to explain without spoiling it, but I really enjoyed this film. The whole film is split into several courses to see how the characters react to each course and the things that transpire within. It's good fun with some violence, a bit of humour, some snark and a look and feel that can be very reminiscent of certain recent shows about restaurants. A couple of things I would say about it is there are times when Ralph Fiennes who is otherwise a British actor, slips up with his accents and also the overall story regarding the villain in this film can feel similar to the main villain of Bullet Train in a way. Apart from that, this will no doubt make you crave for food or be put off by it all together. 8/10

Movie Review - Inside Out 2

I guess a sequel to the first makes sense here. I mean, for the most part, this franchise is all about the subject of growing up and with ...
