Before I go into this, I do not endorse hacking of any kind. Yes it's fun to mod games, especially if like me, you enjoy the customization options. But hacking to steal, cause a disturbance and all that, no. Fortunately, there are games out there that can give us a simulated style of hacking. The most well known of course being the Watch_Dogs games, but then you have games like this that try for a more simplistic approach without the feel of a major triple A quality game. Let's take a look:
As the player, you are given a Unix-like operating system to use, with all parts of the game's interface having their own windows and such. You mainly use the Unix terminal and a graphical display as you play the game. Basically you get some kind of computer to use that mimicks an old operating system, which is the general gist of it. The trope of bouncing a connection between several computers, is not used here in favour of a more quick thinking element when a connection starts, and you are forced to act quickly before time runs out. You are given a last chance before a game over, in which you can change your IP address.
As a hacking game, it's definitely one that will tailor to those not too familiar with the idea and those that are. It's fun when it works and simplistic for everyone to try. Again, I do not endorse this, but worth checking out if you get the chance. 7/10
