Random Video Game Review - Northgard

Well, here we go with another game with some connections to Vikings. I've played a few of these now and I got to say, every experience is different, and I like it when games do that. Gone are the days when nearly every game played the same, and now we have a more diverse range. Of course, there are still a few out there that play out the same. But we gamers love new experiences and challenges, and just get immersed in a world unlike our own. So here we have a game from Shiro Games, whom I believe I have played games of before. It's another Steam game on sale at the time of writing this, so let's take a look:

The game is inspired by Nordic mythology and plays out as a real-time strategy game. Basically, you play as this prince called Rig who is on a quest for vengeance against this guy who killed his father who was the High King. To do so, he must travel across Northgard, meeting various clans and creatures along the way. Taking control across a massive land, is a major thing in this game with every mission, regardless of single player or multiplayer mode being played, having increasing difficulties and complexity.

The game overall is a good one. It's got animation looking graphics, good gameplay and plenty to keep gamers like myself invested. However, I wonder if there are now too many games based or loosely based on Nordic mythology. Well as long as every experience is different, fun and engaging, who am I to judge. 8/10
