Yep, it's that time again. The time when all Star Wars fans just go and celebrate a day dedicated to the franchise that helped redefine the sci-fi and space opera genre, despite not being as perfect as one would like to admit. So for this review, we're looking at a VR experience. Yeah, of all things, Star Wars has been the one thing I have been looking forward to doing in VR, and finally we can do that. With three chapters and the Force and lightsabers being a big deal, this should be pretty fun. Let's go and may the Force be with us:
As it's 3 games, but all following the same story, I'm going to do this review as if it was one big game. So set in the canon timeline between Revenge of the Sith and Rogue One, a silent Force sensitive smuggler and his droid ZO-E3 (voiced by Maya Rudolph) are taken captive by the Imperials and bought to the castle of Darth Vader (reprised by Scott Lawrence). There, the Sith lord enlists the smuggler's help in finding an ancient artefact that would give Vader the power needed to resurrect the woman he once loved in a previous life and possibly unlimited power also. But with a race of beings also in need of the artefact to stop Vader and his forces, this smuggler has a lot on his shoulders and all that. All three chapters have a dojo where you can harness your Force and lightsaber abilities with the story part, offering something new each time as you move around the area.
The game as a whole is a nice addition to the otherwise very big franchise that Star Wars is. Everyone plays their parts well, the VR experience is well executed, and fans and myself will be satisfied by how much you can do in this game. Definitely what I was expecting from a VR Star Wars game and I hope we get more like it in the future. 9/10
