Random TV Season Review - Good Omens (Season 2)

Well, isn't that interesting. Originally conceived as a limited series (or miniseries if you prefer), we're back for another season of Good Omens. Kind of surprised that Michael Sheen and David Tennant just happen to work so well together. They have done a lot of things over the Covid era of our lives and starring in this together, just works. Not sure what any of us will be expecting to see in this new(ish) season, but given it's still very much based on the work of the late Terry Pratchett, we're in for a treat. So let's see what good omens we have to look forward to this time:

So in this second series, which is set post-Covid (specifically after the lockdowns), the Archangel Gabriel (reprised by Jon Hamm) finds himself without his memories as he arrives at the bookshop belonging to Aziraphale (reprised by Sheen). Much of the season has him and Crowley (reprised by Tennant) attempt to find out what happened to him while also evading Heaven and Hell who are both eager to find him. Causing a series of unnatural events (for comedic purposes or otherwise) along the way.

If you really don't get or understand the works of Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, then you are going to have a bad time here. Their works are bizarre, weird and over-the-top in places. But generally good fun and loved by many. This second season, while unexpected, is pretty good. It's funny, has a lot of great people involved, and gives us an irrelevant sense of seeing our world from the perspective of these angel creatures. 9/10
