Random Video Game Review - Road 96

So let's look at another game from one month's Humble Choice. As you might've guessed, this is a game largely around a road trip of sorts, in which you play as various silent teenagers trying to cross this border. Created by French developer DigixArt and published by them with help from Plug In Digital, this certainly looked like it could be an interesting game and judging by it and the other offerings from the Humble Choice that this came from, it's clear that this has a nostalgia feel to it. So let's take a look:

The game has you play as various silent teenagers, all trying to flee the country as a result of an impending election that could see the state of Petria remain as a nation ruled in a harsh dictatorship or a transformative one. Either way, these teens want out and come across a few NPCs along the way that they can choose to help or not with the intention of there being some character development. And it doesn't just stop at the border. You can carry on playing as more teenagers and see more characters as well as see where the characters you have already interacted with previously, are doing. It's played from a first-person perspective where every conversation choice and action you make, could have merit or consequences.

Overall, there is a good vibe about this game. It's got a good nostalgia filled, soundtrack to it, the characters you meet are all interesting (and a few of them are pretty good-looking too) and it's just a nice game that anyone will have no issue playing. But on a serious note, no nation should ever be run by a dictator. That's just wrong on so many levels. 8/10
