Movie Review - The Conference

So when Netflix has its offerings, there's usually always something new they add to their line-up of horrors and Halloween related stuff. Today, we are looking at one of those things and because this doesn't have a Wikipedia page of its own, I'm going by IMDB's page on this film this time around. It's a foreign language film and, I guess one way of putting it, is things will get a little nuts. But of course that is to be expected from most horrors these days anyway. It's actually quite convenient too as I have been to a staff conference with work myself, recently. But anyway, let's get to it:

A team of municipal employees, are invited to and go to a team building conference. There, it becomes clear that there is too much corruption among employees and all sorts of accusations come out left, right and centre. As that's all happening, a mysterious figure appears and begins to murder the participants for whatever reason that may be.

This film comes across as trying to be a comedy horror and, switching between the two, quite seamlessly. It uses some of those tropes that the horror genre is known for, especially when it comes to giving each character, their own traits, personalities and so forth. Good fun for a little while, but unlikely to be as beloved or as remembered as say, Shaun of the Dead. Nice work, Sweden, though. 8/10
