Random TV Miniseries Review - Ahsoka

So despite a few misfires with some of the offerings that Star Wars has had this year, now we have a show that is collectively, a continuation of The Clone Wars, Rebels and just picking up where we last left Ahsoka (reprised by Rosario Dawson) in The Mandalorian and Book of Boba Fett. So a pretty big deal as it's been a much anticipated show featuring old and new faces and changing almost everything we know about the beloved franchise. Dark Jedis, a whole new galaxy and so much more awaits us. I think of all the Star Wars things we have had this year, this one will certainly win fans over, but not neccessarily everyone. How can you say no to seeing four amazing (and also very attractive) actresses, all doing what they can in a galaxy far, far away. Plus, lots of voice actors from Rebels reprise their roles here and with the exception of two of them (possibly more), they are all physically playing their characters this time around. So yeah, lots to expect in this miniseries. Let's take a look:

A long time following the fall of the Empire, Ahsoka learns of a new emerging threat to the galaxy and sets out investigating it with some help from allies such as Mandalorian Sabine Wren (this time played by Natasha Liu Bordizzo), New Republic General Hera Syndulla (this time played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead) and the droids C1-10P (aka Chopper, reprised by Dave Filoni who is also the creator of the show as well as the animated shows mentioned earlier) and Huyang (reprised by David Tennant). Also investigating this threat is Morgan Elsbeth (played by Diana Lee Inosanto) who, allied with Dark Jedi Baylan Skoll (played by the late Ray Stevenson) and his apprentice Shin Hati (played by Ivanna Sakhno), sets out to find out whatever happened to Grand Admiral Thrawn (reprised by Lars Mikkelsen) who may be behind this new threat and other things too.

The show may be too over-reliant on callbacks and so forth to things that have already happened in the franchise, but it does well on female empowerment. Yes, most of the main stars are all females and do a great job in their respective roles. Thrawn is intimidating as he has always been (seriously read the Thrawn trilogy of books if you don't believe me) and while Sabine and Hera have been recast for this series, the two actresses picked, play their parts well and clearly made sure to keep things consistent. Overall, it's one of the best shows for Star Wars which ends on a kinda, sort of cliffhanger which may get resolved in the future, but still satisfying all the same. 8/10

Movie Review - Inside Out 2

I guess a sequel to the first makes sense here. I mean, for the most part, this franchise is all about the subject of growing up and with ...
