Random Video Game Review - Viscera Cleanup Detail

So technically speaking, this isn't a horror game as such. But it has the elements of one, so I decided to count and review it. Created by an indie studio based in South Africa, this was another lucky game to go through Steam Early Access and become a success. It's not often that we see the aftermath of first-person shooters, so well done to the team on making something pretty much original. Let's take a look:

So players are in the role of "Space-Station Janitors" and are tasked with cleaning and repairing facilities that have been the result of various battles during an alien invasion or some other kind of disaster. Tasks include disposing of waste and debris, restocking first aid kits, repairing bullet holes in places and just generally cleaning up the scene you are in. As well as all of that, there are also some bonus tasks too. All players carry a mop, a sensor device and a small PDA to help with the cleanup and some other things could happen as it all takes place. Players can leave each level at any time, in which they go into an office of sorts which tells you how well you did and shows relevant news reports and so forth. No time limits, but be prepared for penalties if a level is not fully cleaned up.

Overall, I like the idea of the game. It puts you in the shoes of those characters that are left to clean up the mess that you the player, would usually leave behind when playing a mainstream game. It's good fun and definitely one that many will have played for the sake of entertainment on YouTube and so forth. 8/10
