Video Game Review: inFAMOUS 2 (PS3)

And before you ask, yes I've played the original and I understand on what's going on in this game.

STORY
Following from the events of the previous game, Cole, Zeke and new ally Lucy Kuo (who is an NSA agent) travel to New Marais for Cole to gain new powers and be powerful enough to defeat The Beast who is the big threat in this game who somehow manages to wipe out Cole's home city, Empire City. In New Marais, the gang meet Nix who like Cole is a conduit who was a normal human until she (like Cole) was hit by a Ray Sphere like object and gained powers from it. Later on in the game, Kuo gains powers as well after being freed by Cole in a prison of some kind and we meet Lsroche who (although hating Cole) decides to help him with the ongoing war within New Marais caused by Joseph Bertrand III who is a money making villian who plans to take over humanity with his armies called the curropt and the Milita. As The Beast slowy makes its way to New Marais, Cole must be ready for him.

GAMEPLAY
While most of the gameplay is similar to that of its predessor, New powers and abilites are unlocked and the ability to do a weapon melee attack is also there as well. Like with the original, there are 3 gangs who are all against each other (Milita, Curropt and Vermaak 88) and as you expect, each one has thier own set of unique eniemes. Most of the bosses you find in this game are most often the more powerful eniemes in the gangs and of course The Beast. Side missions are back but not much has changed in them and the Karma side missions now alow Cole to pick the Evil or Good mission regardless of whether he has his hero bar up or infamous bar up (but like with the original, the other one gets locked out once one of them is completed). Karma moments have been removed and replaced with Karma missions where if Cole is given a choice to help Nix or Kuo, he will go to one of thier missions and the other one will be locked out. Upgrades and new powers can be purchased using XP the Cole gains in the game and mini Karma moments are in as well where something is happening in the area Cole is in and he decides to intervine or leave.

GRAPHICS
Cole and Zeke have been completely redisigned with more facial movements and realistic character designs. Most things in the game now have more detail than the original which is quite good.

Overall, the game is longer, better and less annoying than the first one and definetly is a buy for anyone who's played the original. 9/10

Movie Review - Inside Out 2
