SPOILERS!!!!
So we follow the story of Mr. Popper who misses his father greatly as he's of in the antarctic on an expedition of some sort. Meanwhile in New York, Popper is working for a company who give him the task of buying a tavern which is owned by a very old lady who refuses to give the tavern up until she's found the person who sat on a certain table in the tavern many years ago. However, Popper's dad suddenly passes away and gives him a souvenir which turns out to be a penguin and later on, more penguins. Desperate to get rid of them, Popper asks around NY to find a way to get rid of them. Eventually he finds a penguin expert who claims to know a lot about them and is prepared to get rid of them. However Popper's kids go so fond of them that Popper decides to keep them. Later on however the penguins have laid eggs and while 2 get hatched the other one doesn't. Because of this, Popper decides to return to reality and gives the penguins to the zoo. However his children and soon to be wife, are angry by this and Popper then decides to get them back after seeing some really convincing photos of the penguins. They then fool the expert and take the penguins before entering a conference being held at the tavern by the old lady. Popper, his family and the penguins arrive and have the penguins decide from going to the zoo or have a loving family and as expected, they go back to Popper while the expert is arrested. The old lady after discovering the boy who sat at the table was indeed Popper, then gives Popper the tavern to him and while his bosses want to destroy the tavern and put something else in its place, Popper decides to leave it as it is and refurbishes it with a penguin theme. The film then ends with Popper and his family taking the penguins back to their home and to say goodbye.
A great film for a great comedy actor. love it even if some parts were a bit cliched. 8/10
