AC22: A Look Back at 2011

This year has been another great year for a lot of things either for better or for worse. So today, I'm going to round up everything that's been happening in the year that are to do with my interests and are all related to my past blog posts. Let's Go:

Gaming:
This year in gaming, we saw two iconic franchises celebrate their anniversary which were Legend of Zelda (25th) and Sonic the Hedgehog (20th). We also saw the hugely disappointing launch of the 3DS with a dramatic price cut a few months later but despite all this, the 3DS definitely delivers with having revolutionary and innovative ideas put into it (and as Nintendo made it, expect some surprises). Apple launched their iPad 2 and iPhone 4S which both deliver in terms of looks and features (even though a lot of it have been used before), but sadly saw their founder, Steve Jobs die of cancer, despite this however, Jobs will be remembered for being the creator of the MACs and the IOS devices and will live on in our hearts for years to come. Several big games were released this year which all had a collector's edition of some sort. Here's the full list of them and what you'll get in each edition:

Batman: Arkham City Collector's Edition - Arkham City Art Book, Batman: Gotham Knight (Blu-Ray), Kotobukiya Batman statue, Iceberg Lounge Challenge Map, Dark Knight Returns skin for Batman, The game's official album, Catwoman Character and Storyline, Statue stand and Early access to Batman: Gotham City Impostors

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception Explorer Edition - Journal Styled Game Case, Nathan Drake Statue, Nate's Ring, Nate's Belt Buckle, Online Multiplayer DLC, Treasure chest for storing games and 3D card

Assassin's Creed Revelations - (whichever edition you get, will not contain all of the following) Specially designed box (varies), DLC for the game (varies), Assassin's Creed Embers (DVD), Art book, Assassin's Creed Encyclopedia, The game's soundtrack, The Original Assassin's Creed (PS3 only), Da Vinci's Flying Machine statue and Ezio Statue

Sonic Generations Collector's Edition (Xbox 360 and PS3 only) - Classic and Modern Sonic Statues, A gold ring, Art book, Game's soundtrack, Sonic Documentary (DVD), DLC for the game and a box to store games with

And many others. Big announcements were made at E3 including the reveal of the Wii U and the PS Vita as well as some big games (like the ones above) being released this year and next year.

Films:
Continuing with using 3D elements in them, Films this year have been great. Several super heroes make their debut on the big screen and more sequels and prequels are made. Many of our childhood icons are rebooted and the most well loved films of the last decade return for another spin on the big screen. Loving every moment of it.

TV:
TV has also been good this year with many TV shows returning after a long wait, new series's of current TV shows come about and new ideas all together come into place. There's plenty of award winning shows and dramas and also the 3D revolution kicks in as well. All in all a good year for TV.

That's pretty much all I can say about that so do enjoy watching and playing with these things while you can because it won't be around for long.
