AC11: Why I Hate Call of Duty (and Other Shooting Games)

First of all, sorry for this being late. I've been having a very bad week with a lot of work related stuff happening that has just made me stressed out, so really sorry about that. Today I give a more personal blog post as it's something that I really want to get off my chest.

Now some of you may remember last year that I was going to do a review of Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3 and possibly do a battle between the 2, but never got around to doing them. The reason for that is that I rented them from LoveFilm and it took ages for them to actually come and by the time I played them both, it was already too late to do a review of them and a battle. But there is more to it.

Since the CoD series made its debut, I've hated it from day 1. It's not the best game in the world, a lot of people would actually think it's the best game ever, but it's not. Shoot Em Ups haven't really been my thing from a first person perspective and the same applies to the multiplayer  The 2 of them don't appeal to me at all. But going back to the fact about many people claiming that it's the best game ever, Mass Effect 3, Assassin's Creed 3 and even Super Mario Galaxy are far better than that game because they are more structured and more fun and less fast paced, whereas in Call of Duty, you play it and it's just basically you shooting random stuff and that's it. No fun at all. What I will say however is that the Portal games, while they are also from a first person perspective, they are way more fun. That is the only game out of this genre that I would be willing to play.

So that's basically the reason why I hate it. It will never appeal to me, no matter what (Battlefield, while better in terms of graphics and gameplay, is the same).
