Old and New Review - DuckTales

After over 20 years of waiting, we finally get a remake of one of the most loved and cherished video games, based of one of the best nostalgic cartoons out there, DuckTales. Now I will admit in saying that the original video game came out weeks before I was born and since then, I've never been able to give the original a go so the review on that game will be a footage review. But having said that, I have seen the TV show its based on, but not every single episode. Just some of them. So let's see which is better out of the original and the remake:

DuckTales (NES and Game Boy) (footage review)
So the game has the main character of the show, Scrooge McDuck, travel around the world for treasures that would further increase his fortune. McDuck can use his cane to attack enemies, throw objects and just bounce around with it. Items that come in handy include diamonds with further increases McDuck's fortune and Ice Cream which heals McDuck's health and you will see characters from the show appear who for the most part, will give you hints, offer items and open new areas. There are several areas that you can go to and you can do them in any order that you see fit and you can replay them to find more treasures. And its a game that has multiple endings which are based on how well you do in the game. From what I've seen of the game, it looks like a good game. It may look too simple, but its bound to keep you entertained for hours and the design of the game is great, even though I haven't played it. 9/10

DuckTales Remastered (PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U)
So after several years, we get a remake of the game. The remake isn't that much different to the original in that it has the same story and the same levels and areas like before. The noticeable differences however is that you can hear the characters voices, the visuals are a massive improvement over the original game with a cartoon style look for the characters and the coins are more useful this time around as you can use them to buy bonus content like concept art and other things. So really all I can say is that while there are those differences and that its on HD home consoles, its not really any different to the original which is a shame, but its still fun. 8/10

So my verdict is that (and this isn't because its a remake nor that I haven't played the original) the remake is the better one with better visuals, coins being useful and voices for the characters. Nuff said.

Movie Review - Inside Out 2

I guess a sequel to the first makes sense here. I mean, for the most part, this franchise is all about the subject of growing up and with ...
