Random West End Show Review - The Book of Mormon (Prince of Wales Theatre)

Yeah its been a while since my last review of a show in the West End and honestly, they are more expensive than video games and films which is the reason why I don't review many of them (the same goes for my LEGO set reviews which is on a temporary hiatus until all the Batman and Doctor Who posts are up). But anyway, from the creators of South Park and some of the people behind Avenue Q, we get a musical comedy about 2 guys who are trying to spread the message about some kind of religion. Let's get to it:

So as I just explained, we get a team of people who are sent off to various places around the world to spread the word about a religion. To start off with, each member is paired and sent to the best places around the world, until we get the last duo (who are Elder Price and Elder Cunningham, played by Gavin Creel (although when I saw it, it may have been somebody else that was filling in for him, but it doesn't matter) and Jared Gertner respectively) who aren't the best pair in the world and are sent to Africa, despite Price's pleas to go to Orlando. They arrive, only to find out that the place they arrive in, isn't how they envisioned it with some warlord trying to take over the land. Joining up with the rest of the team in the area, its now up to them to get the people liking the book of Mormon.

The theatre has all the general stuff you would expect with several bars and some pretty good seating so that's all good there. Overall, I thought this was a great musical. At times it can challenge religion in a way, but not too far, but there is plenty to enjoy with several references to some of the things that nerds love a lot, a lot of funny moments and there's even a bit of South Park in it as well. A great musical that I'm sure a lot of you will love. 9/10
