AC15 - RMR - Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

So I don't mean to sound like Doug Walker of TGWTG here, but seeing as most families would want to see Disney films over the holiday season, felt right for me to talk about them. Now because there are so many of them, I will try and do them all eventually, but for now, let's talk about some of them and we will start with the very first feature length Walt Disney Animated Classic that would begin the start of what would eventually be many great (and not so great) animated films:

So based on the German fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm, we follow the character of Snow White (voiced by the late Adriana Caselotti) who lives with her wicked stepmother who most people would often refer to as the evil queen (voiced by the late Lucille La Verne). The Queen fears that Snow White's beauty surpasses her own which is confirmed to her by her magic mirror (voiced by the late Moroni Olsen) and so sends out a huntsman to kill her and bring back her heart, which he fails to do and instead settles for a pig's heart. In turn, Snow White escapes and seeks refuge in a small cottage which the seven dwarfs live at and everything goes well, but I think the queen may just find a way to kill her, herself.

Its one of Disney's oldest and most well known films that was an achievement in animation at the time of its release and I feel it has aged well and unbeknowest to anybody, it started the Disney Princess brand which would then be applied to any film in the Walt Disney Animation canon that has a princess of some sort, old and new. Is it a good film? Yes it is. Its fun, its an enjoyable film, but if you thought Disney is the happiest place to be, think again as this film has a lot of dark elements in it, some of which I feel got overlooked over the years. If you're wanting to get into Disney, this is a good start to it. 9/10
